The objective of the Safety and Emergency Procedure Training (SEPT) courses is to ensure crew are equipped with the necessary skills to handle any emergency or unusual situation that can occur on-board their aircraft and that they are informed of any new regulations, procedures or equipment.
In terms of SA CAA legislation, both flight deck and cabin crew are required to undergo SEPT recurrency training annually. Crew are also required to complete a skills test on board the aircraft on which they operate. Should they operate on more than one aircraft type, a skills test will need to be completed for each aircraft type.
